Part A

What is the difference in frequency between the two types of light?
Express your answer using two significant figures.

Start with the formula C = λf

For orange light:

C = λf
3 * 10^8 = 605 * 10^-9 * f
forange = 4.96 * 10^14

For green light:

C = λf
3 * 10^8 = 510 * 10^-9 * f
forange = 5.88 * 10^14

The difference is just (5.88 * 10^14) – (4.96 * 10^14)

9.2 * 10^13 Hz
